 South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange, NJ. Literally 20 mins outside of Manhattan. South Mountain Recreation Complex is run by the Essex County Park System and they have made tremendous investments in this facility over the last several years. This complex is located at the corner of Pleasant Valley Way and Northfield Ave. in West Orange, NJ. The facility includes the Richard J. Codey Skating Arena, the award winning Turtle Back Zoo, the Tree Top Adventure Course, the Safari Mini Golf Course, McLoone's Boathouse Restaurant as well as a large Park 'N Ride facility. Plans are under way to include boating and a jogging path at the Orange Reservoir located just behind McLoone's Boathouse.
